Biography
Ms. Van Horn is Of Counsel to the firm. Her practice includes complex commercial litigation and arbitration and white-collar criminal defense. Ms. Van Horn has extensive experience litigating and arbitrating cases arising out of contract disputes and commercial torts, as well as representing clients in matters involving financial crimes and corruption. Her clients range from individuals to small businesses, large companies, and private equity firms, including Marriott, Verizon, and Sodexo, whom she has represented in various cases in state and federal courts and in arbitrations across the country.
Representative Matters
Litigating commercial cases on behalf of Marriott and Sodexo in state and federal courts across the country.
Representing a prominent Washington, D.C. private equity firm and its portfolio companies in litigation matters throughout the United States.
Prevailing at trial before the D.C. Contract Appeals Board in obtaining a judgment in excess of $5 million on behalf of a District of Columbia managed care organization.
Representing Verizon in numerous commercial litigation and arbitration matters.
Education
Ms. Van Horn is a magna cum laude graduate of Yale College, a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, and a Fulbright recipient. Ms. Van Horn clerked for the Honorable Barrington D. Parker, Jr. when he sat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to joining Aegis, Ms. Van Horn served as a trial attorney with the Public Integrity Section of the Department of Justice, Criminal Division, and practiced criminal defense law at the New York law firm of Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Silberberg, P.C.
