Biography

Ms. Mueller represents clients in a wide range of complex commercial disputes and white-collar investigations.  Her expertise includes contractual disputes, business torts, civil fraud, construction disputes, defamation, class action litigation, earn-out disputes, employee and customer non-solicitation and non-competition agreements, product labeling, trade secret disputes, and internal and government investigations. Ms. Mueller also has substantial trial experience, having served as lead counsel in a contested arbitration hearing on behalf of a business software provider in a breach-of-contract dispute and a member of a two-attorney trial team in a six-day jury trial in Fairfax County.

 

 

Representative matters:

 

·     Served as lead counsel on behalf of business analytics software provider in breach-of-contract arbitration hearing, resulting in complete victory for client, including attorneys’ fees.

·     Member of two-attorney trial team in six-day jury trial in Fairfax County, Virginia involving breach-of-contract claims against high-end security and smart home contractor, resulting in successful verdict for client.

·     By herself, represented prisoner pro bono in prisoners’ rights case in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland involving Eighth Amendment and Due Process claims against thirteen defendants. After surviving summary judgment, she secured a settlement that included a two-year reduction in client’s prison sentence as well as financial compensation for client.

·     Led internal investigation into large construction and engineering firm’s practices after uncovering isolated billing irregularities associated with municipal water-treatment retrofitting project.

·     Represented victim in sexual harassment lawsuit against former supervisor, resulting in successful resolution through mediation.

·     Regularly represent witnesses in high-stakes white-collar investigations and trials.

Education

Ms. Mueller received her J.D. from Duke Law School, where she served as Managing Editor to the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from the University of Texas and, before law school, worked at the Internal Revenue Service - Office of Chief Counsel.

Prior to joining Aegis Law Group, Ms. Mueller spent four years as a commercial litigation associate at Holland & Knight’s Washington, D.C., office. Ms. Mueller is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Texas.
