Biography
Ms. Consolino is a Partner of the firm. She is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on litigating commercial disputes on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and individuals. She has considerable experience trying cases and handling arbitrations, and has practiced in federal and state courts across the country. Ms. Consolino represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad array of cases, including those involving breach of contract, corporate control disputes, theft of trade secrets, employment discrimination, defamation, and a variety of commercial torts. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Consolino also represents corporations and individuals in highly sensitive government investigations. She has advised both targets and witnesses in investigations pursued by various federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice, FINRA, Congressional committees, the Offices of Inspector General for various federal agencies, several U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, and other federal and state regulatory bodies.
Representative Matters
Served as lead trial counsel on behalf of an equity investment firm in a CPR arbitration involving allegations of fraud and theft of trade secrets. Client was awarded compensatory and punitive damages as well as attorneys' fees and costs.
Defended a Fortune 100 company against allegations of fraud and breach of contract in a month-long AAA arbitration; the Panel dismissed the fraud claim and the remainder of the case settled confidentially after trial.
Served as trial counsel on behalf of a fifty-percent shareholder in a Delaware Chancery Court trial involving breach of fiduciary allegations against the board of directors.
Served as trial counsel on behalf of a commercial real estate brokerage firm in a CPR arbitration arising out the breach of a brokerage agreement. Client was awarded compensatory damages and attorneys' fees and costs.
Represented a Fortune 500 company in a federal False Claims Act investigation; the investigation was concluded with no adverse action against the client.
Together with partner Paul Rauser, represented a Cabinet official in connection with his testimony before multiple congressional committees regarding allegations of misconduct.
While at Chadbourne & Parke LLP, served as a key member of the team representing Star Scientific, Inc. in connection with the federal grand jury investigation and prosecution of former Virginia Governor McDonnell and his wife.
Education
Ms. Consolino received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Texas and J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, serving as Notes Editor of the Texas Law Review. Before joining Aegis, Ms. Consolino was an associate at Chadbourne & Parke LLP and Baker & Hostetler LLP.
